CHARTERED ACCOUNTANT
NEIL EDMUNDSON
'The competitive optimist'
Swapping his hockey stick for a golf club hasn’t been as easy as Neil hoped but the eternal optimist finishes each round confident the next one will produce a few more birdies and a whole lot fewer bogeys.
Everyone who knows Neil knows he’s fiercely competitive – and that’s handy when he goes into bat for a client. At the end of his hockey-playing days, Neil was a regular in New Zealand Masters’ teams playing internationally. His name is inextricably linked with hockey administration and hockey turf development in Hawke’s Bay.
For someone who jokes that he went to school only to eat his lunch and play sport, it seems he learned something about food. He makes the greatest sandwiches, which he reckons are a big step up from bought lunch.
Over the years, Neil’s built up an impressive network of contacts, both in and out of work, and has developed a special interest and expertise in valuations, estate planning and taxation.
