If Alastair had his way he’d probably have Daleks guarding his office – if you’re a follower of the science-fiction, space and time-travelling humanoid alien Dr Who you’d know Daleks are one of the most feared races in the universe. Ask about Al’s DVD collection.
It’s hard to connect the dots but he also enjoys old cowboy country and western movies.
Health and fitness are high on Al’s agenda. He already has a Rotorua marathon under his belt and is gearing up to run next year’s inaugural Hawke’s Bay International Marathon. When he’s not on serious running missions, he’s likely to be heading outdoors for a spot of hiking, surfcasting or hunting, putting his recently-acquired license to good use.
Seems a bit of a contradiction but Alastair still treats himself to the occasional meal of KFC – a remnant of his past when he worked as a KFC store manager in his hometown, Rotorua. But it’s Thai food that is Al’s specialty. He’s done the cooking courses and knows his spices.
