Alastair Cromie (Chartered Accountant)

Director and Audit Partner

Alistair listens first, translates the numbers clearly, and meets people where they are.

He’s deeply experienced in compliance, tax returns, management reporting, and year-end financial statements. However, his real strength lies in interpreting financial information — explaining trends, identifying issues, and translating the world of numbers into clear, practical insights clients can use.

He’s always been curious about how things work and what’s coming next – he has a longstanding love affair with science fiction – so he’s interested in cybersecurity, digital systems, and the future of technology.

With his clients, Alistair seeks connection and continuity. He can offer guidance on everything from tax and compliance to funding, systems, IT concerns, and day-to-day business issues. Clients value his translations skills – how he can unpack financial statements using plain, meaningful language.

Outside work, Alistair connects with communities that spark imagination, belonging, and wellbeing, like his involvement as a trustee with Ngā Toi o te Whenua (formerly Creative Arts Napier). That mix of creativity and practicality shows up in how he supports clients: he brings that same curiosity and big-picture thinking to the people he works with. His days begin with walks along the waterfront with his two Bouvier des Flandres dogs, which sets the tone for his working day.
