Tara Gerbes (Chartered Accountant)

Tara has been with the firm for nearly 18 years and feels strong loyalty to both Oldershaw and Hawke’s Bay. She has a deep familiarity with the firm’s systems and culture, the local community and the client base. 

Tara has a strong focus on getting correct structures in place, supporting compliance work with IRD and solving software-related and systems problems. She’s efficient and enjoys workflow planning and process organisation.  

After studying in Wellington, Tara returned to Hawke’s Bay and completed a ballet teaching qualification. She believes that her teaching skills translate to her work as an accountant: she can start from where the client is, clearly explain what’s needed and break work into manageable steps. 

Tara gets immense satisfaction from solving problems and clarifying issues. She’s flexible and can adapt to whatever approach or level of support is needed. Her clients appreciate her patience and kindness: she wants them to feel confident, at ease and reassured by her.
