Neil Lawrence 

Neil has more than 35 years’ experience in the accounting profession. This work has been complemented by commercial experience outside accounting, including time in the both the motor and aviation industries at a senior managerial level.

This broader background means that he understands business from both sides of the desk. Combined with his experience working with small to large businesses, including large-scale agricultural enterprises in Hawke’s Bay, he has a rare long-term perspective across sectors and business cycles. HIs specialist strengths include taxation, practical business structuring, and intergenerational planning.

Neil brings a calm, straight-talking presence to complex situations, He combines technical knowledge with practical, real-world understanding of staffing, compliance, health and safety, and day-to-day operational pressures.

His core belief is that good advice must work in the real world. His goal, when working with clients, is outcomes that are legally sound, financially sensible, and practically achievable.  Clients value this pragmatic, no-nonsense approach, especially when dealing with IRD issues.

His interests outside work, which include polo, flying, and natural bodybuilding, demand discipline and composure under pressure. It’s a mindset that carries into his professional relationships, where he values clients who listen carefully and act decisively on advice.
